“i’m a nervous nelly about having my photo taken … Rosie put me at my ease”

Introduce yourself and what you do!

Hi, I’m Sue – I’m an HR Consultant – which means I help SME and charities deliver great HR that works for them and their people because when your people are happy, they are productive and they will deliver your business success

What have been your biggest achievements/wins or what are you most proud of in your career?

My biggest achievement is my children but in my career I would say that after a long time working in-house I finally set my own business in 2019 – not long before the pandemic – so whilst it felt like the scariest thing to do, it was also exciting and enabled me to meet some wonderful people who have helped and guided me along the way and also to work with some great clients too and make a difference to their business.

“it felt special – it was just a fabulous day”

- Sue Cockayne

Any Upcoming Projects you’re excited to share?

I’m really excited about a voluntary project I’m part of as an Enterprise Adviser called #GirlsCan and #NoLabelsNoLimits.   Its about working with girls to enable them to have confidence and to believe in what they want to do and feel empowered to go forward in the careers they want and build the futures they want to be part of.

Our young people have had a tough time and its really important to me that I support programmes like this and local business so that our young people can choose to have good careers here in the South West.

I work with some amazing local businesses and I’m lucky to be part of their journey – good HR which builds trust and enables people to work together well really can make a difference and I enjoy working in that way with people.

Why did you need new photos?

I looked completely different in my old photos and I wanted a bright, fresh approach – I love Rosie’s photos they are bold and vibrant and I loved the look and feel of them.

Where and how will you use your new photos?

My LinkedIn profile, Facebook page, Whatsapp and eventually my website too when I get time to update it.

how do you want to come across in your photos?

Helping business create great places for people to work is my aim and my values are integrity, respect and kindness.   I like things that are clean and straightforward and without fuss – the energy and fun that I felt from Rosie’s photos are what I wanted to bring across into my photos.

What do you specifically like about Rosie’s work?

The clean cut, bold colours.   The energy and fun and the vibrancy that comes out through her photos – you can feel the energy and I love that about Rosie’s work.

How was your experience in the studio? What was your favourite part?

I’m a nervous nelly about having my photo taken but I have been following Rosie for a while and watching her videos and it felt such fun.   I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience.  Rosie put me at my ease and the whole team where chatty and very friendly so that it didn’t feel like a photoshoot – that said they also managed to make me feel spoilt so that it felt special – it was just a fabulous day and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think that came through in my photos.

We loved having you in the studio Sue, I’m glad you felt at ease in front of the camera!
